Throwing pots in a good way
My father-in-law, who is retired and has been looking for a hobby, mentioned how he used to enjoy throwing pots but wasn’t sure where he could go to learn again.
Usually I have some ideas for such queries — but at this, I had none. So I took it upon myself to look it up.
Here are a few places I found to explore your inner Demi Moore (you know, from Ghost):
Mesa Arts Center: Wheel skills and glazing, Raku
If you’re interested in the arts, there’s a class here you’ll probably like. Eight-week wheel classes start at $131 for members and $156 for non-members.
Schemer Art Center: Wheel Thrown Ceramics
Six-week classes in wheel throwing (and watercolor, printmaking and more) starting at $165.
Maricopa Community Colleges: Ceramics
They’ve already started for spring, but they have a host of options summer and fall for $71 a credit hour.
Pottery Wheel Classes
Desert Dragon Pottery, holds daily pottery wheel classes at its west-side studio with 6 classes starting at $156 (without tools) or $165 (with tools).
Any more suggestions?
